New Generation Capacity from the Range of Energy Technologies – Submission to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa Request for Comments
On 18 February 2020, the Minister of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (“DMRE”) published a consultation paper – Concurrence with the Ministerial Determination on the Procurement of New Generation Capacity from the Range of Energy Technologies – and invited the public to comment.
The European Union is a major stakeholder as the country’s largest foreign direct investor, and the EU Chamber welcomes this opportunity to make submissions and suggestions on the Determination for the National Energy Regulator (NERSA) consideration.
This submission is made to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (“NERSA” or the “Regulator”) in response to its (“the Determination”). The Determination is made in terms of section 34(1) of the Electricity Regulation Act, 2006 (“ERA”).
