Update: Which new visa amendments have been introduced for travellers to and from South Africa?

As per 10 February 2016, airlines operating across SA borders say they are still requiring minors to travel with unabridged birth certificates when coming in or going out of the country, as the updated passport requirement is only going to be implemented within the next three - 12 months.
All recent announcement in the context of visa regulations including those made in the week commencing 1 February have not been executed in terms of guidance by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).

Many airlines say they are waiting for the DHA to issue updated guidance or the travel advisory as mentioned in the briefing on the unabridged birth certificate requirement - and are going about it business as usual with minor travel to and from SA.
